Respecting the Rhythm of Kirribilli

At Kirribilli EcoRetreat, every stay is thoughtfully prepared.

As a remote island destination, guest arrivals are individually coordinated

around ferry schedules, charter services, housekeeping, and the natural rhythm of the island.

Arrivals

Rather than offering fixed check-in times, we arrange an arrival time with each guest before their stay.

We kindly ask that you arrive at your agreed time so your accommodation is fully prepared

and ready to welcome you.

If your travel plans change, please let us know as soon as possible.

We'll always do our best to accommodate changes where possible,

but unplanned arrivals may affect our ability to prepare the retreat as intended.

Booking & Availability

Private stays are available seasonally from May 15 to October 15, with a minimum stay requirement. Availability is limited and booking is handled directly through the owner.

Booking & Cancellation Policy -- 2027

We're looking forward to welcoming you to Kirribilli!

With our short island season and a small number of guest spaces, a little advance planning helps everything run smoothly.

Reservations & Payment

A 50% deposit is required to confirm your reservation.

The remaining balance is due:

May, June & July stays: May 1, 2027
August, September & October stays: July 1, 2027

Reservations made after the applicable deadline require full payment at booking.

Cancellations

Because our season is short and we welcome a small number of guests, cancellations can significantly impact our small business. If you need to cancel, payments are non-refundable unless we're able to rebook your dates, except where required by law. If we successfully rebook your dates, we'll refund the amount recovered through the replacement booking, up to the amount you've paid, less any non-recoverable payment processing fees. If only some of your nights are rebooked, we'll refund the amount recovered for those nights, less applicable non-recoverable processing fees.

Refunds are issued after the replacement stay has been completed and payment received.

Booking dates cannot be changed, transferred, or carried forward to another season.

Getting to Pictou Island

Travelling to Pictou Island takes a little extra planning, especially when weather affects ferry schedules.

Guests are responsible for arranging and paying for their own ferry or charter transportation to and from Pictou Island.

Ferry delays and cancellations can happen, and they don't automatically qualify for refunds or replacement dates.

If no reasonable transportation option is available for your entire stay, we'll review the circumstances individually in accordance with applicable law.

Arrival, Departure & Dock Transportation

Each reservation includes one pick-up from the Pictou Island dock on arrival and one drop-off at the dock on departure.

Standard check-in and dock pick-up are scheduled around the arrival of the final ferry on your first day.

If your stay depends on arriving earlier, please contact us before booking. Early arrival and pick-up are not guaranteed and must be approved and documented on your booking invoice.

Additional trips to or from the dock, including separate arrivals or departures within the same group, are subject to availability and additional fees.

Charter Transportation & Catering

Guests may arrange their own charter transportation and catering.

If you'd like Kirribilli to coordinate either service, additional coordination fees apply, separate from the cost of the charter or catering itself.

All arrangements and fees must be confirmed in advance.

Travel Insurance

We recommend considering trip cancellation and interruption insurance that covers non-refundable accommodations and ferry-related disruptions.
